Advanced Audio/Video Production

Overview & Objectives:
We will..... learn and apply the video produduction processes of pre-production, production, and post-production.
Behavior:
We will... actively participate, listen, follow studio rules, and stay on task. Cel phones will be put away or can be charging at the charging station.

Engaging Activity(Warm-up):
  • Find seat according to Seating Charts
  • Log on to Google Classroom to see todays Objectives.
  • Check Skyward for DUE DATEs and current grades.
Lecture:
  • Reminder: Movie Night will be Friday, Nov. 15 at 6:30 pm.
  • Please return any Equipment that you have currently checked out.
  • Elements of Story: Introduction Three Act Structure Lesson -
    • Writing Prompt - Describe your favorite story from your childhood. Discuss, specifically, what makes this story strong. Think about the main characters, the conflict and the most exciting moments. Upload to Google Classroom.
    • Demo/Modeling - Watch a short episode from the television series, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, "Whodunit" and take notes on the following thoughts while screening the episode. Describe the main characters and how they are introduced. Describe the primary conflicts. Describe the most exciting, intense part of the show. Describe how the show ends. Download & Use Notes Sheet
    • Small Group Share - Following the screening of the episode, students are put into small groups of three to discuss the four thoughts listed above. The student groups are prompted to delegate a speaker and will then share answers to each of the following questions with the entire group. Teacher will record student responses on the white board/smart board.
    • Elements of a Story - discuss the origin of narrative structure, referencing Aristotle's dramatic arc and Seven Golden Rules of Successful Storytelling.
    • Compare elements of a Story to "Whodunit" plot points. Use ThreeActStructureDiagram.pdf
    • Student groups presenting their diagrams and rationale to the class.
  • Story Writing
  • Continue the 3rd SIX WEEKS PRODUCTION/WORK ETHICS SCHEDULE - must keep a daily log of activities in this class. This counts towards your participation grade.

Individual Learning:
  • Login to GMetrix. From the “Start a Test” screen, type your access code provide on your sheet into the “Enter a New Access code” field and click next. Choose Training, Premiere Practice test 1. Practice the Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2018 Certification questions.
