GarageBand - use GarageBand to create your own background music and to use its copyright-free sound effects.
Music is a powerful dramatic tool capable of greatly enhancing emotional response. Unless played at a sufficiently high volume to inflict actual pain on tender eardrums, music can only evoke a sense of terror. Except for perhaps rare cases in which a listener is predisposed by some traumatic experience to react to a specific piece of music in a particular way, music does not transmit terror itself. That's why it is usually enjoyable rather than unpleasant to hear the music of Halloween, Psycho and Jaws, to name just a few of the great horror film scores. The main musical themes of those movies strongly suggest but do not embody menace.
